PRIORITY
[prahy-awr-i-tee]
- the right to precede others in order, rank, privilege [noun]
- precedence [noun]
- highest in importance, rank [adjective]
Here is some food for thought I’d like to offer:
Priority is a singular term. It literally means the highest, the ONE that precedes all others.
Yet, how often do we start our work days with a minimum of 5-10 tasks which ALL feel of equal importance?
How common is it that we set an expectation of ourselves (and others) that to have a successful day, we must complete ALL 5-10 tasks with equal energy and focus & with perfection?
Dare I say, in the year 2022, we as a workforce have lost the ability to truly prioritize. In fact, one of the most common challenges shared with me during my corporate training events is:
“I don’t know how to prioritize my work. I feel like I am drowning.”
Do I have a one-size-fits-all, magical solution for this rampant problem in our workplaces? Certainly not.
Do I have strategies and systems that can empower entrepreneurs & professionals to build confidence in their skills and master the art of prioritization in multiple areas of their lives?
You bet I do.
